Mobile check deposit / Frequently asked questions
Is there a fee for digital deposits?
No, you won't be charged a fee for deposits made using the mobile app.
Do I need to be online to deposit checks?
Yes, you need to be connected to the internet to deposit checks electronically.
Can I deposit checks using my laptop or desktop?
No, you can only deposit checks digitally with the Associated Bank Digital app on a mobile device.
What is the cut-off time to make a deposit?
Deposits are reviewed on business days between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central Time. Funds may not be available for immediate withdrawal. Please see the Digital Banking Terms and Conditions for more information.
How long should I keep the original check?
Store the original check in a safe place for seven days. After seven days, and after you have confirmed the deposited funds have been applied to your account correctly, you can securely destroy (e.g., shred) and dispose of the check.
What if I get error messages about image quality, image too light, etc.?
Follow the on-screen instructions in the Associated Bank Digital app to help correct your specific problem. Remember to endorse the back of the check, include all four corners of the check in the picture, lay the check flat in a well-lit area and hold the device directly above the check, and wait for the camera to focus.
The system won’t accept the check if it detects that it’s a duplicate, if you take two pictures of the same side of the check (versus front and back) or enter an amount that doesn’t match the amount detected.
Is there a daily deposit limit?
This depends on the type of account you have. However, when you do make a check deposit on your mobile device, the Associated Bank Digital app lets you know how many more checks you can deposit for the day as well as your dollar limit. This message appears at the bottom of the “Deposit Now” screen.
