For added convenience, you can also use our digital banking to move money to and from your Associated Bank accounts and external accounts you hold at other financial institutions in the U.S.

Sign in to Associated Bank Digital.

Select “Transfers” and then “Manage Account” on your mobile device or “Available Accounts” on your computer. Then select “Add a new account.” Enter the routing and account number of your external account.
Verifying your account
When you use Associated Bank Digital for external transfers, you’ll need to verify that you’re the account owner. There are two ways you can do this:
- Verify instantly by logging in to your external bank account so we can confirm you own the account. If your account can’t be instantly verified, we’ll send you a notice and direct you to verify it using the method below.
- Verify small deposits posted to your bank account in 1 to 2 business days. Associated Bank will make two test deposits and one test withdrawal into the account you're adding. You’ll need to view and identify these test deposit in that account you're adding. Enter the two deposit amounts in External Account Transfer to verify you own the account.

How much do external transfers cost?
There is no fee to transfer money into or out of your Associated Bank account. See the Digital Banking Service Terms and Conditions for details.
What types of accounts can I use for external transfers?
You can transfer money from and to your Associated Bank personal checking account. You can also use an external account to pay an Associated Bank account such as a mortgage. Check with your other financial institution for limitations on accounts that can be sent to and from that institution.
Can I use external transfers to move money to an Associated Bank account owned by another person?
No, you may only transfer money between accounts that you own. To transfer money to someone else you know, use Zelle® in Associated Bank Digital.
