Emails

You get an email that asks for your private information or tells you to sign in to your Associated Bank account using a strange link.

What to do:

Check the sender of the email. It should be from @AssociatedBank.com or another email address ending with AssociatedBank.com. (e.g., @digitalbanking.AssociatedBank.com).
Hover your cursor over the link to see the full URL. If it goes to an unexpected location, never click.

Text messages

You get a text message that claims to be from Associated Bank. It urges you to take immediate action by clicking on a link or providing private details.

What to do:

Don’t click on anything or give your information.
This isn't a legitimate message. Associated Bank will never text you for your account details.

Phone calls

You get a phone call claiming to be from Associated Bank. They ask for private information like your sign-in details, authentication codes or account numbers.

What to do:

Never give them any information. Hang up. Associated Bank will never call you to request your account details.

Spoofed calls

Scammers can use fake callerIDs to pose as businesses or even the IRS. They may use current global events or family crises as a reason for these calls. Don’t share any private information with them.

Fake invoices

An email arrives in your inbox asking payment for something you didn't order. You may know the sender, but you notice strange characters in the address or text. Don't click on anything in the email. If it claims to be from a company you know, call the company directly using a number you know is valid.

Romance scams

These scammers pose as a potential romantic match and gain trust by building a relationship. A sudden financial crisis comes up, and they trick their new online “friend” into sending them money via wire transfer or payment apps like Zelle® or Paypal. Fake check scams
